With the WHO meeting next week about this, people are telling CBC to have me back on. I’d rather they ask the PM on & ask why he is signing a pandemic treaty before reviewing our own COVID response. Sign my petition demanding Canada not join this treaty. https://t.co/u2outJNNbm https://t.co/Xpc8V5X32a pic.twitter.com/XqeYKe1mUi

“You are being distracted by war! 194 countries are about to abdicate sovereignty to the WHO and Bill Gates. Governments will no longer determine how they deal with diseases, and ‘pandemics’ NGOs, global Corps and elites will decide how we live. No one voted for this. #StopTheTreaty” reads a viral Tweet with roughly 2,000 retweets.
Another Tweet making its rounds, which has received over 250,000 views at the time of writing, features Russell Brand commenting on the global pandemic treaty,
In the video, Brand mocks the language used by elites in describing the treaty.
“We’re just shaping the future,” Brand quotes mockingly. “That’s controlling the future. What shape is it? It’s not the shape of a boot on your face forever… I’ll tell you what’s up. Your democracy is f*cking finished.”

The proposed WHO Pandemic Treaty must be stopped. It risks superseding parliamentary democracy, public health laws and human rights within 194 countries. Unelected technocrats should never decide sovereign public health policy.#StopTheTreaty. pic.twitter.com/xVMQSGvZSV

The Counter Signal has been reporting on the World Health Organization’s pandemic treaty for several months. As many have noted, the pandemic treaty would give several new powers to the World Health Organization, including the ability to determine what a pandemic is, when one is occurring, and what governments’ responses are in the event of a pandemic.
“Of even more concern, if this treaty is enshrined, the WHO would be in full control over what gets called a pandemic,” MP Leslyn Lewis wrote in a statement.“They could dictate how our doctors can respond, which drugs can and can’t be used, or which vaccines are approved. We would end up with a one-size-fits-all approach for the entire world… A one-size-fits-all response to a health crisis doesn’t even work across Canada, let alone the entire globe.”
As for countries that don’t abide by obligations set out in the pandemic treaty, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has suggested that the WHO may need the authority to direct other countries to sanction non-compliant countries that don’t want to impose restrictions, as seen over the last two years.
Additionally, the Biden administration sent a proposal to amend World Health Organization’s International Health Regulations, which member states will vote on between May 22 and 28 during the 75th World Health Assembly.
According to the proposal, any amendments to the International Health Regulations (which have thus far been used to justify lockdowns, border closures, and discriminatory vaccine mandates) would immediately come into effect for all member states.
“Pursuant to paragraph 3 of Article 55 of the International Health Regulations (2005), any amendments to the Regulations adopted by the Health Assembly would come into force for all States Parties on the same terms, and subject to the same rights and obligations, as provided for in Article 22 of the Constitution of WHO and Articles 59 to 64 of the International Health Regulations (2005),” the proposal reads.
As for the stated amendments being proposed, the Biden administration is recommending the following: intensifying health surveillance; creating a global communication network that is in a constant state of assessing risks and reporting to the WHO; giving the WHO the authority to tell other member states when one member state isn’t reporting in and recommending they take action; giving Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus the authority to declare when a pandemic or emergency is occurring; giving the WHO the authority to determine what steps a country should take in its pandemic response; and giving the WHO the ability to mobilize capital in the event of a pandemic.
