Dear Friends,
I am sending you my message sent out today [to Japanese Prime Minister Abe], calling for his decision to retreat from the Tokyo Olympics or to postpone it.
I informed Prime Minister Abe of signs of an important change in the public opinion, citing supportive messages addressed to me from outstanding personalities in the economic world.
I also pointed out that my interview articles published by “Weekly Asahi” (dated September 20) and Monthly “Gekkan Nippon” (dated October, 2019), in which I pleaded for retreating from the Tokyo Olympic Games, received encouraging reactions.
I stated that, in order to restore honor, Japan should go as far as apologizing to the International Community for causing anxiety.
I referred to my message addressed to [Olympic Committee] President Thomas Bach, asking him to redouble his efforts to cope with which the crisis Japan and the Olympic Games are faced.
Please allow me to count on your understanding and support.
